Born and raised in North Carolina, DANIEL is an actor/sketch comedian/writer/director and graduate of the USC School of Dramatic Arts. He has trained all over LA (Beverly Hills Playhouse, UCB, The Groundlings) and in NC (NC School of the Arts). He's performed all over LA, too (New American Theatre, Skylight Theatre, Coeurage Theatre, RogueMachine, Sacred Fools, UCB, iO West, Second City, ACME Comedy Theatre, Celebration Theatre). DANIEL is also one half of a sketch comedy duo, Mary-Kate and Ashtray (UCB, the ACME Comedy Theatre, Second City, SF Sketchfest) - the other half being actor Riley Rose Critchlow. (Daniel and Riley are also certified content creators in the FunnyOrDie community).

In addition to acting, DANIEL hosts the 90s throwback Goosebumps podcast, Goosebumps:Welcome To DeadCast, with his twin brother, actor Matthew Scott Montgomery (over 300k subscribers and ranked within the top 30 on the Apple Podcast charts). Daniel also is the co-creator and co-writer of the runaway hit true crime spoof podcast Done Disappeared (ranked top 20 on the Apple Podcast charts).

In 2015, DANIEL, with collaborator Justin Fix, created CREEP Los Angeles: an immersive, not-your-typical haunted house, where guests are placed inside the story line, interacting with performers in fully-realized environments. Described as the “closest thing to being inside of a horror movie,” Creep LA had massive success, leading to a sold-out second season in 2016 and the creation of a year-round immersive theatre production company (JFI Productions).

DANIEL has written and performed in every JFI Productions show since, including Creep:ENTRY (2016), Creep:LORE (2017 partnership w/ Amazon Studios), Creep:AWAKE (2018), HAUS OF CREEP (2019), Creep:INSIDE (2020), Creep (2021), and sexy 70s disco show NIGHT FEVER (2022). His most critically-acclaimed project, an immersive murder-mystery dinner-theatre show about a sinister family called The Willows, ran for 3 sold-out years, before closing in 2020. The Willows was also filmed as a virtual reality game, currently available through Amaze VR.

He’s also written, performed in and produced immersive experiences for Amazon (“The Boys” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer”) Blumhouse (“MA”), Meta (“Sacred Lies” at San Diego ComicCon 2018), FX (the critically-acclaimed American Horror Story: 1984 activation at San Diego ComicCon 2019), and Universal Studios (“Nobody” and “Halloween Kills”). www.JFIproductions.com for more.
